Damnit. This is exactly what I did NOT want to happen. Last week when the Bills fumbled away any remaining playoff hope, I was actually ok with it. I dug deep and reminded myself that this season was about growing towards the future. Sure it was easy to get caught up in the talk of a possible postseason run, but once that came and went I was OK. The only thing I desperately wanted to avoid however, came to fruition this week. All I wanted was for EJ to play well and continue to develop at QB. No, not because he’s a nice guy (which he is,) but for a more selfish reason...no comments
This was actually one of the better football days for me in Queens. I changed up my football routine by going to a different bar by my house. The new spot wasn't exactly packed, but there were diehard fans from different teams at the spot. I was floored with how many Detroit Lions, yes, the Detroit Lion fans were in the house. Seriously, I've never met a Lions fan in my life and they were hilariously rowdy. And on the other side of the bar were insufferable Eagles fans, who just were going ape shit over their tilt in a winter wonderland against Detroit.no comments
Two weeks after a great performance at Ralph Wilson Stadium against the Jets, EJ Manuel played well but didn’t shine against the Falcons in the Rogers Centre. Week 13 was Manuel’s eighth game and his fourth game away from Orchard Park.
Manuel’s completion rate in the Bills’ home stadium is 64.7%, compared to 52.6% in other venues. He also averages 1.9 more yards per pass attempt there (7.4 at RWS and 5.5 elsewhere). The only aspect of Manuel’s game that is better away from RWS is his rushing (3.6 yards per attempt and a touchdown better than at home).no comments
(Going to try something new for the site. Will do a legit preview, My 3 reasons to hate the Bucs and Twitter's trolling of the franchise all in one piece. Let me know what you think.)
Are you ready for some meaningless football?!
Yes, it is our favorite time of year. As an ex-pat, when the season starts I tend to venture to McFaddens (NYC Bills bar) because the hype for the season is at an apex. Then when the season starts getting away from us, I start just going to local establishments in Queens. Once the season becomes a shit storm, I just look for an illegal feed of the game to watch on my couch. We are sadly at this juncture.no comments
Where to begin on Stevie Johnson...
It is probably overkill on my part when you consider that this is the site's 11th Stevie Johnson piece since 2011. Just when you think you can't write anything else about him, this shit happens. I gotta admit, I'm really tired of sticking up for Stevie. In fact, I'm sick of the whole scene.no comments
A note of transparency here before we get rolling with this week’s column... During the thick of football/hockey season I typically try and split my time between the Bills and Sabres. Obviously wherever the more interesting story lines lie is where I tend to go. In the past by the time we get to December, I am usually exclusively writing about the Sabres as the Bills season tends to be over, but as we all know this year has been rather different.no comments
Stevie Johson’s fumble late in the fourth quarter cost the Bills 42% worth of win probability against the Falcons, according to Brian Burke’s win probability calculator. Based on where he caught the ball and the time remaining, the Bills had a 89% chance to win the game. The play didn’t directly lead to an Atlanta win, but it eliminated Buffalo’s chance to win before overtime (a 50/50 proposition).no comments
I'm in Buffalo right now and have a long train ride ahead of me for tomorrow morning, so, I'm going to make this kind of quick. This sucks. This is #becauseitsbuffalo #23 in the annals of fooball folklore. I just can't believe this. I'm so fricken sick of this crap. Why on earth does this happen to us all the time? Right after the game, I blurted out that if I have a kid while living in NYC, no way in blue hell would I have him/her cheer for the Bills. Go cheer for the Giants because our team is built on some sort of Indian burial ground.no comments
