Q&A about Duke Williams

Written by Joe on .

It is time to talk about the 2nd safety (The troublemaker one) the Bills selected in the NFL draft. We are joined by Chris Murray, who is The Nevada Wolf Pack beat writer at the Reno Gazette-Journal. He's going to dish the dirt about Duke Williams.

1) What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Duke is first and foremost a hard hitter. He plays with no fear and is going to lay the wood on players. That’s a plus, but the downside is the fact he’s not the most sure-handed tackler with form. He has improved as a tackler, but he’s not above average there. He doesn’t have great size, but he does have very good speed. He’s also terrific in special teams and should give the team immediate impact there.

Q&A about Robert Woods

Written by Joe on .

Still going strong with our Q&As about the Bills draft picks, we are at #4 on the list of players. For this installment, we are joined by Trenise Ferreira from Reign of Troy to dish the dirt on Robert Woods. Enjoy and tell a friend.

What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Robert Woods is a good route runner with great hands, and he is really good after the catch. He averaged over 10 yards per reception throughout his entire career at USC, that number bolstered by the fact that he is incredibly elusive and tacks on extra yards after the play. While he has good hands and is reliable, he isn't exactly an intimidating down field threat and if he wants to be successful at the pro level, he needs to improve his deep route running ability.

Q&A about Marquise Goodwin

Written by Joe on .

Continuing with our Q&As with bloggers who covered the Bills draft class in college, we are going to get some info about Marquise Goodwin from Kris Hughes who is a Senior Writer for Rant Sports. He formerly ran a Texas-focused blog called Bevo’s Corner and has been a Texas football season ticket holder since 2002. You can follow Kris on Twitter @KrisHughesRS.

1) What are his strengths and weaknesses?

It’s no mystery that Marquise Goodwin’s speed is his biggest asset. Clocked at an unofficial 4.17 40 during the NFL Draft Combine, there will be few guys at any position in the NFL next season -- rookies or veterans -- who have better straight-line speed than he does. This speed is coupled with some great athleticism.

Q&A about Jerry Hughes

Written by Joe on .

Who the hell is Jerry Hughes? Beats the crap out of me. Although, I was pretty disappointed with myself in not knowing he was a former 1st round pick. What kind of blogger am I? I guess one who doesn't follow the Colts all that much.

I'm pretty sure most readers don't know who he is as well, so, I reached out to Josh Wilson over at Stampede Blue (SB Nation site) to see what type of player we are getting. It is a pretty thorough Q&A  that you guys will enjoy for the information, albeit, the info seems kind of negative.

1) What are his strengths and weaknesses?

1) Jerry Hughes has the skills to be a good pass rusher, he just never seemed to realize that ability in Indianapolis.  I don't know why, really.  His skill set as a pass rusher looks good on paper - he is fast, athletic, and has a variety of moves to get past lineman.  He just could never seem to do that with the Colts.  He has struggled against the run and in coverage, but one thing that I will say about him is that he put in a commendable amount of effort last year to learn the Colts' new 3-4 defense.

Q&A about Jonathan Meeks

Written by Joe on .

Continuing with trying to get scouting reports from writers who have covered the Bills current draft class, we goto to the boys at Shakin The Southland to get the deal on Jonathan Meeks.

1) What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths - Run support, he's better when he's coming into the underneath zones as well, and he isn't scared to lay a hit.

EJ3 Should be brought on slowly

Written by Joe on .

It can get pretty tough to find new ways to tell the world that you think the Buffalo Bills suck. I'm not trying to start out negative, I'm just saying after a while, it gets boring to write the same shit even though the Bills deserve it. I assure you, I'd rather write nice things about the Bills than bad things. However, I'm not gonna shill for the sake of my own creative well-being.

I have a sense that a lot of fans feel the same way. They want to move on from the garbage we've endured since 2000. They want to be positive and are (mostly) smart fans who know how this can get accomplished. We know our weaknesses and they start at QB. We all know the string of names. The disappointments. The supposed heir apparents to Jim Kelly. They are horrible relationships gone bad. We are fricken desperate, jilted lovers.

This entire offseason was built around one thing: Getting a franchise QB.

Q&A about Kiko Alonso

Written by Joe on .

So the Bills selected a guy who got drunk and broke into a stranger's crib to pass out on their couch. Hilarious! Alright, besides that, I wanted to learn more about Kiko Alonso. So, I reached out to the boys over at The Duck Stops Here and to see what type of drinker player we got.

1) What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Alonso is physical and athletic, playing with a nasty streak at 6-4, 242. He was Defensive Player of the Game in the 2011 Rose Bowl with 5 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a critical diving interception in the fourth quarter. 81 tackles and four interceptions as a senior, playing part of the year with a cast on his hand.
