So long...

Written by Joe on .

I'll try and make this quick on Poz. If you need a history lesson, just read here. I think that pretty much says it all. Again, Poz is overrated. If he wasn't Polish, and fans didn't have visions of Shane Conlan running onto that field when #51 was drafted, no one would buy his jersey. He can't cover, he can't make plays in the backfield, he doesn't run well left to right, and Chester Taylor ran him over last year in Toronto.

With all that, do you really wanna give him a 6-year deal?

Finally!!!! The lockout is over!!! The long national nightmare has finally come to an end. No more condradictions on what the players and owners want, no more stupid emails from Drew Brees, it's finally over! Anyways, this is my final post about the lockout...hence the title. no comments

Buyer beware: The NFL has returned

So the NFL lockout is over! Yippee skippee! The fact of the matter is that this lockout has been so overanalyzed by every website, blogger, and media type that I am just glad that it is finally over.  In the end, like Joe always said, as long as games aren't missed no one will care.  Let's be honest here, no games were ever going to be missed, and fans were never going to be shunning the magnificent spectacle that is the NFL.  Believe me, I wanted to, but I know that the only way I can ever really see myself doing that is if the Bills leave Buffalo (sorry, probably didn't need to go there).

5 reasons to be optimistic about the Bills this season

Written by Joe on .

5) Shawne Merriman factor: Not sure if this comes under being optimistic but more of a "What if?" factor. If Shawne Merriman plays like he did in 2007, the Bills will have a top 10 defense. He's the biggest x-factor on this team. The biggest reason why the the Bills went from 28 interceptions in 2009 to 10 in 2010 was the lack of a pass rush. The Bills had just 27 sacks last year (ranked 27th) while the previous year they were ranked 18th. As much as I thought Aaron Schobel was overrated at times, the Bills definitely missed his pass rushing presence. Again, if Merriman can be what Schobel was, we are going to be alright.

Did The Bills or Ravens Win The Willis McGahee Trade?

Written by Rob on .

page0_blog_entry392_1Well, since Adam Schefter reported that the Ravens will be cutting Willis McGahee this week, it seems fair to assess which team won the trade. As it stands, none of the players involved in the deal are on the Ravens or Bills.

Following the 2006 season, the Bills needed to get rid of workhorse running back, Willis McGahee, following his negative comments towards the city of Buffalo and his contract being up the following year. The Bills were the only team to give McGahee a shot after he blew out his knee in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, as the sure-fire top five pick slid to Buffalo, who held the 23rd overall selection in the 2003 NFL Draft.

McGahee was a solid back for the Bills, rushing for 1,128 yards and 13 touchdowns in his rookie year, and gaining a career high 1,247 the following season. In his third year, he failed to crack the 1,000 yard mark, rushing for 990 yards and six touchdowns.

Weekend Brief: Lockout coverage stinks/Sabres thoughts/Sully taking a buyout? and more

Written by Joe on .

-OK, now the lockout is starting to annoy me. Nope, doesn't have to do with the players or owners. It's all the overanalyzing about whether a deal is in place or not. I'm not a lawyer and honestly, this crap just bores the hell out of me. However, I'm sick of ESPN having like 20 minutes worth of coverage to decide what went right or wrong. I understand that ESPN hasn't been able to talk much about the actual game like they would normally do at this time of year, but just chill for a minute. I'm sick of going to PFT.com, only to see the story changed 75 times!

Debate: Who is more important, #13 or #83?

Written by Joe on .

Brian: Alright Joe, obviously the Bills have a pretty talented group at wide receiver and the 1a and 1b of the group are Evans and Johnson. Johnson had the breakout season in 2010, but Lee Evans is more important to the Bills being better in 2011, and you know it, even if you have a man crush on Stevie. no comments
