(NOTE: I was slightly wrong about this piece.)

We are a few hours away from free agency for the Bills and as usual, Twitter is throwing out possible/fantasy names for the Bills to sign. Vincent Jackson! Mario Williams! Robert Meachem! Dallas Clark! Marques Colston! How awesome would it be if the Bills signed some of those guys? Picture Vincent Jackson and Stevie Johnson as your 1A and 1B targets. How about Mario Williams rushing the passer? What about Carlos Rogers as your #1 corner? Wouldn't it be fun? How many season tickets would be sold? How many jerseys would be purchased? How many Bills cliches/players would be trending on Twitter? Billieve? Fitzmagic? VJ/SJ connection? Tuffalo foursome? Wouldn't it be a nice dream? Alas, it would only be a dream.

With the Free Agency season upon us, I thought I would take the time to write about who I thought were the best, most important, and favorite Buffalo Bills free agent signings. Believe it or not, there was a time when the Bills were an actual favorite destination for potential free agents. They were once a consistent playoff team with a great front office, a respectable head coach, and future Hall of Fame players. But as Bob Dylan once sang, "The times they are a changin' " (Ron Burgundy never heard of that song).

I'll make it short: Matt Warren from Buffalo Rumblings. Joe Pinzone from Buffalo Wins. Talking Bills free agency. Here are a few topics we hit up:

  • Stevie Johnson, Scott Chandler and Kirk Morrison re-signing.
  • Mario Williams to the Bills? Doubt it.
  • Which FA WRs do the Bills need to sign?
  • Do the Bills need to upgrade at OT?
  • Are there any players the Bills may cut?
  • What should the Bills do with Fred Jackson?

BTW, I have a new open for the podcast.

Note: Be sure to follow FNLoud on Twitter. They are trying to start a movement in making the crowd more lively.

Yes, I used to be that guy.

The transplant who would watch Sabres games on TV and wonder, where is the crowd noise? Why are these people leaving early? Why can't we get a fricken chant going!? These fans suck!? I had that notion at different times during my detour in NYC. However, I changed my tune sometime last year during the playoffs. Like many on Twitter, I was bashing the crowd after game 3 of the playoffs against Philly and then I realized that a few of my twitter favorites were at the game. I just kind of felt bad about it. As crazy as it sounds, I think I may have apologized about it.

Okay, I'm about to wander down a very unfamiliar path for me: Writing about the Bills. However, there have been some folks on Twitter and elsewhere who want to cut Ryan Fitzpatrick and go after Peyton Manning. I feel the need to get this out there for those of you who are thinking that.  It's a terrible idea, and it's never going to happen.

Well, it is April now and it is time for the most overhyped event in the world...The NFL Draft. As I've written in multiple posts in the past, I hate the draft. I understand the importance of it and how you build teams through it, but I am not a fan of what precedes the event. I'm not a fan of experts who give passing/failing grades after the draft, even though these kids haven't even played a down yet! I don't like how Mel Kiper ("Jimmy Clausen is awesome! I'd put my reputation on it!") or Todd McShay ("Aaron Maybin is a steal for the Bills!") think that every player selected in the 1st round is going to be a gamer. History says they won't be, which makes it all propaganda.

So, when Buffalowins.com’s head honcho, Joe, and I were talking about what my upcoming column would be about, the topic turned to Ryan Miller. Right now, Miller is the central cog behind the Sabres’ current push to the playoffs.

Our consensus was that it’s so strange/interesting/kind of sad how Miller went from being the poster boy of USA hockey after the Vancouver games in 2010 to receiving a Bronx cheer from his own crowd. no comments

Once again, Talkamania is running wild on you. Unfortunately for this episode, Matthew Stewart is sick (Or the Barrister/Mainstream media person killed him) and was unable to join me. However, Heather B. from um, the retired Topshelfblog site joins me. Here's the format of the cast:

  • First 25 minutes are dedicated towards the sabres.
  • Next 15 minutes are dedicated to the top sports stories in America.
  • Next 10 minutes are dedicated to the Walking Dead.
  • The last 8 minutes are dedicated to Heather B. answering five random questions.

Good stuff! Enjoy and tell a friend.

This is where we separate the Darcy Regiers from the Bill Parcells.

The first part of my dictatorship as GM was easy. I got rid of old guys who didn't really live up to their deals and handed out like, 5 million bucks. I'm now looking for impact players via free agency or trades. When I look at free agency, it is filled with a lot of dynamic playmakers at wide receiver. The Bills need at least two of them. I'm also down two starters with Kelsay and Edwards looking for work. Going to have to fix that as well.
